Admissions Process
Step 1. Attend an Admissions Open House
These evening or Saturday sessions, are an opportunity for prospective families to learn about The Neighborhood Academy, tour the school, and meet some of our faculty and staff.
Step 2. Attend a Testing Session
The Neighborhood Academy uses a self-designed test to obtain an accurate picture of a prospective student’s academic standing.
Step 3. Supply Records
On the day of the Testing Session prospective students must bring all of their academic, attendance, health and discipline records with them to the test. Students will not be permitted to take the test unless their records are in hand.
Step 4. Schedule a family interview
All prospective applicants will have personal interviews with a member of The Academy’s Admissions Committee. The interviews are an opportunity for the Admissions Committee to learn about each applicant individually.
Step 5. Summer Academy
The Summer Academy is a five week academic experience that will include standardized testing, math, language arts, religion & philosophy, and history. The Neighborhood Academy will notify prospective applicants as to their status and acceptance to Summer Academy.
Step 6. Final Notification
Upon completion of Summer Academy, notification of acceptance to The Neighborhood Academy will be sent. Families will have 10 days to inform The Academy of their decision. Acceptance is based on ability, performance, and demonstrated behavior at Summer Academy. |
