How you can help...

Support Our Programs

Choose to make an annual gift, a monthly gift, or a one-time contribution. Here are some of the programs that your gifts make possible:

$60	Cost to buy one monthly bus pass for one student
$75	Cost to provide one student with an athletic uniform
$135	Serves one student three meals and a snack per day for an entire month
$225	Equips one student educational materials and textbooks for the academic year
$500	Pays one students “stipend” for attending Summer School which doubles as a job
$1000	Places one computer with software in our student lab
$1300	Supplies a copy of the Pre- and Post- Stanford 10 Standardized Tests to each student
$2500	Staffs one coach for varsity sports for one season
$5000	Allows us to purchase needed chemicals and equipment for our new science labs
$7500	Fully equips our home economics kitchen
$10,000	Provides a partial scholarship to one student for one academic year
$20,000	Fully scholarships a student for one school year which seamlessly combines school, after school, and summer programming, with family outreach into a system that works. Ask about becoming a member of our “Over The Bridge” (OTB) club.
$60,000	Join a special group of supporters by becoming an Over The Bridge (OTB) Sponsor. This special commitment grants a full scholarship to a student at The Neighborhood Academy for three years. You may also choose to meet your student.

Scholarship A Student

Become an Over The Bridge Sponsor and make a special commitment to scholarship a student at The Neighborhood Academy for three years.

As an Over The Bridge Sponsor, you will be fulfilling a student's dream and helping him or her to become a productive member our workforce and an active citizen. You will be changing, not just one child’s life, but the lives of their family and future generations.

Make a meal

An ideal opportunity for families or groups! Bring lunch or supper for our students, and experience the joy of feeding growing children a delicious home-cooked meal.

We provide each student with three meals and a snack every day. For details on how your group can help by bringing lunch or supper, call 412-362-2001 x 202 for a copy of our MEAL GUIDELINES.

Defer your corporate taxes

Defer your corporate income tax by participating in the Educational Improvement Tax Credit program (EITC). Through this program the local business community can support approved nonprofit scholarship organizations, such as The Neighborhood Academy.

By making a 1-year EITC donation, your company receives a 75% tax credit for donations up to a maximum of $200,000 per company, per year. The tax credit increases to 90% if your company commits to make the same donation for two consecutive years.
